Cox's Mark Greatrex Elected CTAM Chair

The CTAM Board of Directors elected Mark Greatrex, senior vice president and chief marketing and sales officer at Cox Communications, to a two-year term as chair of the board. Greatrex has served on the CTAM and cable-operator co-op boards for nearly four years. He’s played an integral role in building CTAM as an essential industry organization, representing 80 member companies, including all top-tier cable companies and content providers, CTAM said.

"Foremost, Mark has a keen understanding of both the challenges and opportunities facing the cable industry,” CTAM CEO John Lansing said in a release. “His unique background in managing strategic national marketing initiatives, coupled with his proven success as head of marketing across the entire Cox enterprise, makes him the ideal person to lead the CTAM board."

Also relevant to his new role, Greatrex developed his strong consumer marketing orientation at companies such as Unilever and Coca-Cola, and built his digital services background at AOL Inc.  Since joining Cox Communications four years ago, he has led a marketing and sales transformation, helping pivot the company to an even more consumer-centric approach.

“Cable is a powerful ecosystem that serves consumers and businesses with critical communications connections and unparalleled content,” Greatrex said in the release. “When we create better experiences for those consumers, everyone wins. CTAM is a critical catalyst that helps propel this golden age of video entertainment and spur major innovation in broadband services. I look forward to working with my colleagues to help shape the future.”
