Concurrent Computer Corp. and Vertasent LLC will work together on next-generation video-on-demand technologies, the two vendors said Tuesday.
Concurrent and Vertasent said they are currently developing open interfaces, which will lead to product standardization among on-demand equipment, allowing headend components from any manufacturer to work together without costly custom integration, helping to reduce delays.
“Concurrent's eagerness to embrace open standards sets an example for the entire industry and the future of on-demand television,” Vertasent vice president of product and market management Bruce Bradley said in a prepared statement.
