Comedy Central Greenlights Three Additional Seasons Of 'Tosh.0'

Comedy Central has given a rare three-season renewal to its popular series Tosh.0, the network said Tuesday.

The series, currently in its fifth season, will now run at least through 2016, said network officials.  The sixth season of Tosh.0, which will consist of 30 episodes, will premiere Feb. 18. The fifth season of the series, which concludes tonight (Dec. 10) is averaging 3 million viewers, said network officials.

“We believe Tosh.0 has the potential to resonate with our audience, and we want to give it time to connect,” said Kent Alterman, President, Content Development and Original Programming, Comedy Central.

The network also announced that it will launch digital comedy series Broad City as a weekly, half-hour scripted series on Jan. 22. The series, from Upright Citizens Brigade alums Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer, follows two twenty-something best friends who comically navigate through life in New York City.
