Comcast Launches MSG HD in New Jersey

Comcast is adding MSG HD and MSG Plus HD for its digital cable customers in Northern New Jersey, officials said Thursday.

Sports fans can now watch more than 300 live sporting events in high definition annually on MSG HD and MSG Plus HD, including exclusive coverage of the New York Knicks, New York Rangers, New Jersey Devils, New York Islanders and New York Liberty.

MSG HD features coverage of the New York Knicks, New York Rangers, New York Liberty, Buffalo Sabres and the Red Bull New York, offering fans live sports action in HD year around.

MSG HD also boasts a line-up of original programming, including the nightly sports and entertainment show, MSG, NY, theNew York Emmy-award winning MSG Originals documentary series, the MSG Concert Series, and MSG at the Movies.

MSG Plus HD offers coverage of the New York Islanders and New Jersey Devils. MSG Plus HD also carries live sports and original programming from Fox Sports Net, including a strong lineup of national and local college football and basketball, shows such as Best Damn Sports Show, The FSN Final Score and Sports Science, and a variety of live local sports.

In addition, MSG Plus HD includes a robust lineup of original sports programming and games covering the top sporting events in the tri-state area with the High School Game of the Week and weekly half-hour show High School Weekly.

Last week Comcast announced that it now has more than 1,000 high-definition (HD) viewing choices, strengthening its industry-leading position of providing more HD choices than any other video provider. 

Comcast’s Eastern Division serves 6 million residential and business customers across Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia and Washington, DC. The Eastern Division is based in Oaks, Pa.
