Superstation WGN picked up 1.2 million homes in the San Francisco Bay area Wednesday following a deal with Comcast Corp.
The network has now passed the 65 million-household mark.
“The most important consideration in adding new programming to our lineups has been the extensive research on what our customers want,” Comcast vice president of marketing Elaine Barden said in a prepared statement. “We listen to their programming needs and desires, and WGN has been near the top of the list.”
Among highlights of Superstation WGN’s programming, it is the national cable-TV outlet for more than 100 Major League Baseball games annually featuring the Chicago Cubs and White Sox, as well as a slate of National Basketball Association games featuring the Chicago Bulls.
