Collins Joins Comcast Board

Former Time Warner Cable chairman Joseph J. Collins has been named an independent director of Comcast Corp.

Collins is currently chairman of Aegis LLC. Prior to that, he served as chairman and CEO of AOL Time Warner Interactive Video. He is also a former chairman of the National Cable & Telecommunications Association.

“I'm pleased that Joe has accepted a position on our board,” Comcast chairman and CEO Brian L. Roberts said in a prepared statement.

“He has vast experience and a very distinguished record of service in our industry, including his tenure as chairman of the NCTA,” Roberts added. “Joe brings a thorough and broad understanding of the cable business, and he will be a tremendous addition to our company.”
