CNN Airport Network Lands 50th Affiliate Pact

CNN Airport Network has touched down on its 50th runway.

The airport service has inked a carriage deal with Spokane International Airport in Washington, lifting its presence to half a hundred locations in the U.S. and building its reach to some 263 million annual passengers.

The new accord in Spokane follows CNN Airport Network renewals at Memphis International Airport , Miami International Airport, and Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.

Elsewhere, newcomer Clear Channel Airports and ConnectVision Digital Networks are about to put a new in-airport TV network into flight at Raleigh-Durham International Airport. ClearVision, which was scheduled to launch this fall will bring together an array of entertainment, news, music and sports providers, when it bows in early January, according to a spokesman.

Launched in 1991, CNN Airport Network, the only live satellite-delivered airport programming service, presents live daily news from CNN and HLN, original travel features, entertainment programming from HBO, TBS, TNT and TCM, and live sporting events from premiere sports leagues such as the NFL, NBA, MLB and the NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship.

“CNN Airport Network has been a valued brand for over 21 years, and our dedication to providing a quality service that enhances the travelers experience resonates with our engaged audience,” said CNN Airport Network president Debbie Cooper in a statement. “The network has proved itself to be the most trusted source for information and news for over two decades, and our consistent growth shows our strength in the marketplace and as a leader in the airport entertainment space.”
