CNN has acquired the U.S. broadcast rights to immigration-based documentary Documented, the news network announced Tuesday.
The film, which explores the life of undocumented immigrant and Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Jose Antonio Vargas, will debut on CNN in the second quarter of 2014 following its international run and U.S. theatrical distribution, said network officials.
Documented is written and directed by Vargas, with technology entrepreneur Sean Parker, Matthew Hiltzik (Paper Clips), Scott Budnick (The Hangover), and philanthropist Liz Simons as executive producers.
