CNBC Goes Inside McDonald’s

CNBC will premiere behind-the-scenes special report Big Mac: Inside the McDonald’s Empire Wednesday, July 25 at 9 p.m.

Hosted by CNBC Squawk Boxco-anchor Carl Quintanilla, the one-hour report dissects the 53-year-old, 30,000-store fast-food company.

“Serving more than 52 million people each day, McDonald's is a well-known staple around the world,” CNBC vice president of long form and special programming Josh Howard said in a prepared statement. “CNBC had a rare opportunity to truly blanket McDonald's operations and uncover the tremendous work that goes into running the most successful food-service business.”

Included in the special are an interview with founder Ray Kroc; insight into the testing and development of McDonald’s food products; an examination of the criticism surrounding the company’s food, advertising and marketing; and a profile of a single McDonald’s restaurant in the United States.

In addition, the special features segments from China, where McDonald’s continues expanding from 780 stores in a bid to upset rival Yum Brands.
