Chu Chosen As Oxygen CFO

In the first executive appointment since its absorption by NBC Universal, Oxygen Media has named Cynthia Chu vice president and chief financial officer.

Reporting to Lauren Zalaznick, president of Bravo and Oxygen and Catherine Dunleavy, executive vice president and CFO for NBCU Cable, Chu will oversee the financial and operational performance of the women’s targeted-content provider. She starts her new job Jan. 14.

Chu comes to Oxygen from NBCU's Local Media division, where she has been in roles of increasing responsibility since 2004. Most recently, she was the director of sales finance, responsible for the financial planning, pricing analysis, and reporting of revenue from 25 NBC and Telemundo owned-and-operated stations.

“We’re excited to bring Cynthia on as the new CFO at Oxygen,” said Zalaznick.  “There’s enormous potential for growth at the network; Cynthia’s background is perfect to help shepherd the asset into the NBCU family.”
