Cablevision Offers Free Preview of NFL Network

About a month after reaching a deal to carry the NFL Network, Cablevision Systems said it will offer a free preview of the channel on Sunday, Sept. 16, across much of its tri-state service territory.

NFL Network will be available on Channel 11 in much of the New York, New Jersey and Connecticut areas, with some Connecticut customers findilng the preview on channels 12 or 20. Cablevision launched both NFL Network and the NFL RedZone channel in select packages on August 17.

 NFL Network’s 2012 fall programming line-up offers complete “GameDay” coverage starting at 7 a.m. ET on Sundays and provides more than 2,500 hours per year of original programming, including “NFL Total Access,” “NFL AM” and “Around the League Live,” as well as the expanded 13-game Thursday Night Football schedule. 

“We are pleased to be offering this free preview of NFL Network, to remind our customers that they have access to this unique and marquee channel completely devoted to NFL football,” said Cablevision’s vice president of video product management Bradley Feldman in a statement.  “The combination of NFL Network and NFL RedZone provides die-hard fans, fantasy players and casual viewers with the latest game coverage from every angle.”

With the exception of the free preview, Cablevision customers can find NFL Network on channel 150 in both standard-definition and HD in the Optimum Preferred, Optimum Silver, Optimum Gold or the Optimum Sports & Entertainment Pak.  NFL RedZone, which airs on Sundays throughout the regular season, is available in both standard-definition and HD on channel 151 as part of the Optimum Sports & Entertainment Pak, which cost $6.95 per month.
