Cablevision Systems Corp.’s Optimum Online high-speed-data service and Planeta Networks Inc. Tuesday announced the launch of Spanish-language portal "Optimum Latino."
The portal joins the MSO’s recent launches of a Spanish-language customer-acquisition Web site and its addition of iO en Español to its iO: Interactive Optimum digital-cable service.
Optimum Latino features news and information, multimedia content and other applications.
The MSO added that for an additional fee of $9.95 per month, Optimum Online customers can get unlimited access to 18 different Hispanic music radio channels and 16 video channels of both "live" and on-demand content, plus constantly updated news services from the top markets in Spanish-speaking Latin America and Spain.
“As the size of the Optimum Online community has increased, so has its diversity,” Cablevision senior vice president of high-speed-data products Gemma Toner said in a prepared statement.
“Our … work with Planeta Networks to make a world of valuable online content available to our Spanish-speaking customers reflects our ongoing commitment to making the region's best and fastest high-speed-data service even more compelling and valuable,” she added.
