CableServ Inc. said Bresnan Communications is using its amplifier-upgrade products to complete an upgrade of its Great Falls., Mont., system from 550 megahertz to 750MHz.
“Cable operators like Bresnan are faced with a choice,” CableServ president Audley Alexander said in a prepared statement. “They can do a total network rebuild, replacing amplifiers and passive components, which is a time-consuming, resource-draining expense with a long-term payback. Or they can pick a more cost-effective alternative: a ‘drop-in’ amplifier upgrade.”
Alexander said CableServ’s upgrade products increase the forward and return bandwidth of amplifiers without respacing.
