Cable, OTT Start Awards Season Strong

Cable networks and over-the-top streaming services found favor with the nomination committees for three annual entertainment-industry awards shows: the Golden Globe Awards, the Screen Actors Guild awards and the NAACP Image Awards.

Netflix led all television content providers in nominations for both the 73rd Annual Golden Globe Awards and the 22nd Annual SAG Awards. FX’s Fargo, USA Network’s Mr. Robot, Starz’s Outlander, Amazon’s Transparent, PBS’s Wolf Hall and ABC’s American Crime Story all received multiple Golden Globe Awards nominations, while HBO’s Game of Thrones, Showtime’s Homeland and Netflix’s House of Cards were the shows most nominated for Screen Actors Guild Awards.

Fifteen cable networks, Netflix and Amazon garnered multiple nominations for NAACP Image Awards, which celebrate the accomplishments of people of color. Click through below for more coverage of the latest 2015 nominations.
