C-SPAN To Offer Debates On Demand
C-SPAN Thursday said it will make all four presidential and vice presidential debates available to its affiliates for their video-on-demand services.
The network is working with the Comcast Media Center and TVN Entertainment to supply the content to affiliates for “rapid turnaround” and availability to C-SPAN cable providers, network officials said.
Each of the debates will be made available to cable operators’ VOD platform and accessible to VOD-enabled customers within hours of each event.
“Making these historic debates available On Demand is an expansion of C-SPAN’s efforts using technology to educate and inform American citizenry as they prepare to vote in November, and another example of cable’s commitment to public service through their offering of the C-SPAN Networks,” Peter Kiley, C-SPAN’s vice president of affiliate relations, said in a statement.
