Burke Blows Out of TWC
The sun will soon set for The Weather Channel Networks executive Bill Burke, who is stepping down from his position as president and CEO.
Burke -- who has held the top position at the company since February 2002 -- said he’s leaving the company to spend more time with his family and to pursue "new entrepreneurial opportunities."
He’ll also remain a consultant to TWC parent Landmark Communications Inc and TWC Networks.
Landmark president and chief operating officer Decker Anstrom said in a prepared statement that Burke "has been an exceptional leader for the past two years and, working with our senior team, he has helped to strengthen and grow The Weather Channel businesses to a point where they are stronger than ever before."
