Bravo Boosts Original Series

Bravo continues to fortify its original programming lineup, picking up one series and adding five shows to its development slate.

The network has picked up fashion design, creative competition series The Fashion Show (working title) from 3 Ball Productions (The Biggest Loser, Beauty and The Geek) in which the winner will be selected by viewers and then have their designs sold by a retailer.

(The show is not Fashion House, which Bravo announced last July during the Television Critics Association press tour. That program is a creative competition based on a the British format of the same in which teams of designers will live and work together to develop a cohesive line.)

The episode order and start date for The Fashion Show had not been determined at press time.

Casting calls for the series commence this Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Apple Restaurant and Lounge in Los Angeles. Other casting events are slated for Miami (Nov. 8), Chicago (Nov. 13) and New York (Nov. 16). Additional casting information is available at www.BravoTV.com/casting.

"Bravo celebrates the very best in food, fashion, design, beauty and pop culture, and The Fashion Show is the next step in expanding our fashion affinity group, and the perfect complement to our successful fashion series Tim Gunn's Guide to Style and The Rachel Zoe Project, said Frances Berwick, executive vice president and general manager, Bravo Media, in a statement.

On the pilot front, Bravo announced five new projects (all working titles). In a new genre for Bravo, Fashionality is a weekly one-hour series, featuring four eclectic New York tastemakers from the worlds of media and fashion, who explore the intersection of pop culture and fashion via field pieces, roundtable debates and interviews.

On Celebrity Sew-Off, celebrities, paired with an expert, will design, cut and stitch their way through a competition show to see who has the vision to from icon to fashion star.

Docu-series Double Exposure follows art and fashion photographer Markus Klinko and his partner and former model Indrani, giving viewers a taste of the fast-paced world of high fashion and celebrity photography.

Polo, another docu-series, delves into the sport’s world, players and their beautiful wives and girlfriends, while The Dubai Project transports viewers to the fastest-growing city on earth, where they will follow a group of American and British ex-pats and their entourages.
