BET's `Black Girls Rock' Draws 2.7 Million Viewers

BET's Nov. 7 original special Black Girls Rock! generated 2.7 million total viewers, according to Nielsen.

The special, which celebrated the achievements of black women, was the top cable special among women 18 years and older and more than tripled more than tripled the time period slot for the calendar year 2010, said the network.

The Black Girls Rock! special honored several influential women including Raven-Symoné Missy Elliott, Keke Palmer, Teresa Clarke, Ruby Dee, Major General Marcelite J. Harris, and Rev. Dr. Iyanla Vanzant.

Also making appearances during the special were Malinda Williams, Shontelle, Lynn Whitfield, Keri Hilson, Ciara, VV Brown, Monica, Keyshia Cole, Estelle, Kym Whitley, said the network.
