BeIN Sports has hired Italian international Christian Vieri to join its futbol coverage.
Vieri, whose career included stints at Atletico Madrid, and Serie A's Juventus, Lazio and Inter Milan that helped forge his place among the FIFA 100, will serve as one of the network's lead soccer commentators, as well as a regular contributor, alongside Bodo Illgner and Ray Hudson, on The Locker Room, which airs Monday in the 8 p.m. hour.
"Christian is a soccer icon with an international fan base and broad appeal. He brings a wealth of knowledge about the game and will be a significant contributor to the compelling content we offer to the community of soccer fans in the U.S.," said Antonio Briceño, deputy managing director of beIN Sports USA.
"I am thrilled to be joining the beIN Sports family," said Vieri. "This game has been an important part of my life, and this is an incredible opportunity to be part of the ever increasing and passionate community of soccer fans in the U.S."
In addition to presenting action from Italy's top circuit, Serie A, beIN's soccer roster includes action from Spain's La Liga and France's La Ligue.
