In a deal with Channel 4 International, BBC America will import the first two seasons of dramedy Shameless to U.S. shores in April.
Written and created by award-winning Paul Abbott -- whose resume includes BBC America political thrillerStateof Play, Touching Evil and Clocking Off -- Shameless follows the lives, loves, sexual adventures, scams and triumphs of the anarchic Gallagher family, residents of the Manchester projects.
BBC America will run seven 50-minute installments of Shameless, produced by Company Pictures. Its cast includes James McAvoy (State of Play), David Threlfall (Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World), Anne-Marie Duff (The Way We Live Now) and Maxine Peake (All or Nothing).
