Rainbow DBS’ Voom high-definition direct-broadcast satellite service is getting into the auction business.
Auction HD, one of the Voom HD Originals networks, will debut Saturday at 2 p.m. EST when it airs Swann Auction Galleries' Space Exploration sale, in HD.
The sale contains aeronautical effects that have been to the moon and back, including flown items from Apollo 11, navigational charts used by Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin during the first lunar landing and personal items from space exploration's top astronauts.
Cablevision Systems Corp. is the parent company of both Rainbow DBS and Voom.
