Amino Communications said its new “AmiNET500” personal-video-recorder set-top features Widevine Technologies Inc.'s “Cypher Virtual SmartCard.”
The box supports time-shifting, pause and trick-play modes, and it can record up to two streams simultaneously.
Content transmitted using the Widevine Virtual SmartCard is stored on the disk in its original encrypted form. Encryption properties remain on content shipped throughout the home.
