AMC Hires MGM's Tuchman For International Post

AMC Networks said Bruce Tuchman is joining the company as president, AMC/Sundance Channel Global, the company's international division. He comes from MGM Worldwide Networks, where he served as president since 2001.

Tuchman will lead the strategic expansion of the company's global business, including the distribution, programming and marketing of Sundance Channel, currently distributed in Europe, Canada and Asia, and We TV, currently distributed in Asia.

Based in New York City, Tuchman will report to AMC Networks COO Ed Carroll.

At MGM Worldwide Networks, a division of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios, he was tasked with developing and managing MGM's interests in cable, satellite and other television networks, which reach tens of millions of subscribers across more than 130 countries. Under his leadership, the countries and territories reached by The MGM Channel increasing five-fold.

Earlier he was at MTV Networks, as general manager of Nickelodeon Global Network Ventures and SVP of Nickelodeon New Media Ventures after a stint as VP of business affairs and senior counsel, international development for MTV Networks.

From 1989-94, he was an M&A attorney with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom in New York and London.
