Amazon to Carry Starz's 'White Queen'
Starz Digital Media has signed a content licensing agreement giving Amazon Prime Video online distribution rights to premium channel Starz's original miniseries The White Queen.
Amazon Prime Instant Video will be the exclusive subscription-only streaming service in the U.S. to carry the 10-episode drama, while the miniseries will also remain available on Starz channels and services, noted Mara Winokur, senior vice president, digital, at Starz.
The White Queen stars Rebecca Ferguson as Queen Elizabeth and Janet McTeer as Jacquetta Woodville. Both actresses were nominated for Golden Globes for their performances. Max Irons, playing King Edwad IV, and James Frain, as Richard Neville, costar.
The Golden Globe and Emmy nominated original miniseries is based on the historical novels from Philippa Gregory's New York Times best-selling series, The Cousins War Set during England’s War of the Roses, it tells the story of three women vying for England’s throne during one of the most tumultuous times in the country’s history.
