Allison Page, a long-time senior programming executive at Food Network and Cooking Channel, has been elevated to general manager, Scripps Networks Interactive home category. Reporting to Kathleen Finch, president of the home category, Page will assume oversight of the programming and scheduling teams. The home category includes the lifestyle television networks HGTV, DIY Network, Great American Country and their associated websites and related digital properties such as FrontDoor.com, as well as the HGTV HOME brand of consumer products and HGTV Magazine, a joint venture with Hearst Magazines, SNI said in a release.
“Allison has the right combination of innovative thinking and ‘straight-from-the-trenches’ expertise that will keep us focused on maintaining our current ratings trajectory,” Finch said in the release. “We produce more than 1,200 hours of programming annually, so it gives us a tremendous advantage to have someone with Allison’s experience leading the pillars of our content activities.”
Said Scripps, Page, a highly-regarded executive and proven programmer, has a reputation as a strong team leader who is adept at creating successful collaborations across the company. She also is known for a keen ability to pair talent and producers with the best content ideas. While at Food Network, she cultivated relationships with such talent as Alton Brown, Giada De Laurentiis, Guy Fieri, Bobby Flay and Rachael Ray, and helped to develop and launch some of Food Network’s most successful series, including Cutthroat Kitchen, Worst Cooks in America, Rachael vs. Guy: Celebrity Cook-off and the recent hit, Guy’s Grocery Games. She also played an integral role in the successful launch of Cooking Channel.
Page joined Scripps Networks in 2001 as a programming manager for Food Network, quickly becoming a key programming strategist. Prior to joining Scripps Networks Interactive, she worked at independent production companies on programs for Discovery, A&E and Lifetime and was an associate producer at CBS News Sunday Morning.
