A&E Drums Up February `Studio 54’ Special

A&E on Feb. 11 will debut a new original documentary special, Studio 54, showcasing the famed dance club, the network said Tuesday.

The special follows the birth and explosion of Studio 54 beginning in 1978 as the place to be seen in New York City during the disco music era to its financial decline and eventual demise by 1980.

The special will include interviews with club founder Ian Schrager and others associated with the club, as well as feature newly discovered footage and photos, according to the network.

Studio 54 is produced by Altimeter Films and Passion Pictures, with John Battsek and Corey Reeser serving as producers, according to A&E.
