Idris Elba and his wife Sabrina have made a deal with Crunchyroll to develop an animated sci-fi thriller with the working title Dantai.

AT&T, looking to get out from under a mountain of debt, said it agreed to sell its Crunchyroll anime business for $1.175 billion to Sony’s Funimation Global Group.

The SVOD service may be on the block as debt-strapped AT&T ransacks its larder for salable assets. But that uncertainty isn’t keeping the venerable anime-focused streaming service from rolling out new initiatives
