YouTube Live Tacks on Features

YouTube has introduced a set of new features for YouTube Live, its live-streaming platform – automatic captions, chat replay and location tags.

Among them, automation captions addition makes the live streams more accessible, and helps viewers follow the action without sound. YouTube launched auto-captions for its broader platform in 2009, and estimates that it has implemented the feature on about 1 billion videos so far.

Chat replay enables viewers to catch up on both the live stream and the accompanying chats on their own time after the live stream is over.

YouTube Live users now have the option to add a location tag to their mobile live streams and video uploads.
