PlayStation Vue Bites Into Apple TV

PlayStation Vue, Sony’s OTT-TV service, has added another key platform to its streaming mix by launching an app for Apple TV (fourth-generation) devices.

In addition to supporting features such as PS Vue’s cloud DVR and support for simultaneous streaming on up to five devices, the service’s latest implementation will also include integration with the Apple TV Siri  Remote.

Additionally, new subs can sign up for PS Vue’s various service plans and link their subscription to Apple TV without requiring a PlayStation console.

PS Vue has been adding platforms as it faces off against traditional MVPDs, as well as virtual ones such as Sling TV and DirecTV Now, which will launch later this month. Hulu plans to launch an OTT-delivered multichannel service in Q1 2017.  YouTube is starting to salt away programming deals for its coming "Unplugged" pay TV service. 

PS Vue is also supported on PCs and Macs, Android TV devices, PS4 and PS3 consoles, Roku devices, iOS and Android smartphones and tablets, Amazon Fire TV boxes and the Fire TV Stick, and the Google Chromecast streaming adapter.
