Synacor Highlights Telus Win

In a deal that extends Synacor’s international reach, the provider of Web portal and TV Everywhere services announced that it is moving ahead with a deal to provide Cloud ID authentication technology to Canada-based service provider Telus.

Synacor, which mentioned the win when it announced first quarter results, said its authentication technology will provide identity management as a service, with single sign-on for Telus’s Optik subscribers who require federated authorization to access bilingual entitled content and services online. Synacor said its Cloud ID platform will simplify the process for those subscribers.

Before this deal north of the border, Buffalo, N.Y.-based Synacor entered the Latin American market last year, securing a win to provide a next-gen portal, email services and TV Everywhere service support for Grupo TVCable Ecuador.

Other Synacor service provider customers include Armstrong, BendBroadband, Buckeye CableSystem, Google Fiber, CenturyLink, Cable One, Charter Communications, Mediacom Communications, Suddenlink Communications, WideOpenWest, Surewest Communications and Verizon Communications.
