Sling TV Adds Cheddar Big News

Cheddar Big News, a new digital network from Cheddar focused on the day’s headlines and top stories, launches today on Sling TV, the Dish-owned OTT TV service.

Cheddar Big News is available on the Sling Orange and/or Sling Blue subscription packages. Sling TV ended Q1 2018 with 2.3 million subs.

Cheddar Big News debuted in April and features updates and business news from Cheddar’s New York Stock Exchange studio, political and government news from Washington, D.C., and entertainment news from Cheddar’s Los Angeles office. Cheddar Big News’s content partners include AccuWeather, FanSided, Stadium and VSiN.

Sling TV added the primary Cheddar channel in 2016. “Today we’re welcoming Cheddar Big News, a new way for Sling TV subscribers to stay in-the-loop on daily headlines that matter most,” Ankit Bishnoi, vice president of content acquisition and strategy at Sling TV, said in a statement.

“Sling TV is a very special partner for us. They were the first to launch Cheddar; they saw the vision and bet on our team and content before anyone else. They are extremely innovative, and we are so excited to bring Cheddar Big News to the platform,” added Daniel Schneider, VP of business development at Cheddar.
