Hulu Hires VP, Product Management
OTT video service Hulu has hired Richard Irving as vice president, product management, where he’ll head up Hulu’s long-term product strategy, establish product team goals, and align cross-team efforts.
Irving, who will help to drive product management for Hulu’s SVOD service and coming live-streaming offering, joins the company from Microsoft, where he was the partner group program manager for Xbox One, with responsibilities including the user experience for the platform, including apps for Windows 10, iOS, Android, as well as Live Avatars.
During his 18 years at Microsoft, Irving also oversaw programs such as Kinect for Xbox 360, helped to incubate the Live TV capability for Xbox One, and was an inventor on six patents that included his work on Xbox, speech recognition and e-commerce.
Irving stats at Hulu today (July 18), and is based in Hulu’s Seattle office.
Irving reports to Hulu SVP and head of experience Ben Smith, who is also late of Microsoft, and recently keynoted the Multichannel News/Broadcasting & Cable Next TV Summit in San Francisco.
