Xfinity Home, Kwikset Lock in More Integrations

Comcast said Xfinity Home, its smart home and security service, has extended support to three connected door locks from Kwikset.

The integration, which extends Comcast’s relationship with Kwikset, covers the SmartCode 910 Deadbolt, SmartCode 912 Deadbolt Lever and SmartCode 916 Touchscreen Deadbolt, joining the SmartCode 914 Touchpad Deadbolt. The technical tie-in enables Xfinity Home customers to remotely view the status of the locks, lock and unlock their doors, and create rules/automated commands to be notified if doors are not locked.

Xfinity Home is also set to integrate with Kwikset’s SmartCode 914 Touchpad Deadbolt, which will be sold at Xfinity stores and online at the Xfinity website.

Dan Herscovici, GM/SVP of Comcast Xfinity Home, announced the expanded partnership today during a keynote at the Smart Home Summit in Palo Alto, Calif.

Xfinity Home is also integrated with smart locks from August, which counts Comcast Ventures as an investor. Parks Associates forecasts that nearly 1 million smart door locks will be sold this year, rising to 1.7 million units by 2021.
