WorldGate Unwraps Program-Link Service

WorldGate Inc. has added a new service to its interactive-television platform
that allows interactive content to be linked to any television show on broadcast
or cable channels.

'Go!TV Links' use WorldGate's 'Channel HyperLinking' technology, allowing
viewers to touch a button on their remote control to access TV-formatted show
information. That includes show descriptions, episode synopses, cast lists and
bios, airtimes, viewership ratings, broadcast schedules and photos.

It can also link viewers to network Web sites and TV-trivia questions.

WorldGate will begin deploying the Go!TV service next week starting in
Massillon Cable's Ohio systems. Plans are to extend the deployment to all of its
40 North American clients through the end of this year.

'By linking exclusively to television-formatted content, users are given a
more satisfactory experience that demonstrates the true potential of ITV,'
WorldGate president Gerard Kunkel said in a release.

'Go!TV Links is another example of giving the consumer a product they want,
and it provides added value to the cable operator's digital-cable tier,' he
added.
