Vimeo, the online video specialist owned by IAC, said its technology is being used to help power two OTT offerings from Lionsgate – Laugh Out Loud and Tribeca Shortlist.
LOL is a “mobile-first” comedy streaming service delivered on apps, a website and social media platforms that feature original content from Kevin Hart and “stand-up legends.” LOL is using Vimeo’s API and SDK products.
Tribeca Shortlist is a streaming service for movie lovers that includes recommendations from actors, directors, and other influencers. Tribeca uses Vimeo’s OTT “out-of-the-box” platform and is offered on web browsers, Roku and Apple TV and distributed by SlingTV and Amazon Channels, Amazon’s subscription VOD aggregation service.
Vimeo confirmed recently that it had dropped a plan to build a subscription video service and, in its place, refocus on its creator community.
