TruTV's 'The Carbonaro Effect' Debut Reaches 1.2 Million Viewers

The Carbonaro Effect, truTV’s new series starring magician Michael Carbonaro, launched last night with 1.2 million viewers.

The show, which aired in the network’s Thursday 10 p.m. half hour slot, reached 631,000 adults 18-49 and 326,000 adults 18-34, with a median age of 38.

truTV emphasized The Carbonaro Effect as a key series in its programming overhaul, which targets a younger audience of “funseekers.” The network expanded its order of the series from 13 to 26 episodes prior to its debut, following a successful sneak preview on April 1. The series uses a hidden-camera approach as Carbonaro performs various comic tricks and sleight of hand in public to unknowing participants and onlookers.
