The Gatherer Network, SVOD Service Targeting Women, Eyes Q4 Debut
Cinedigm and Gatherer Entertainment are targeting a Q4 launch for The Gatherer Network, a subscription VOD service that will focus on women in the 35-54 age demo.
The service, to be offered on Cinedigm’s addressable base of more than 535 million consumer devices, will focus on the “hectic lifestyles” of this group with content in areas such as news, beauty and fashion, financial insights and planning, technology, travel, and “crafty” DIY.

That content, to be distributed on web and mobile platforms, will curate a mix of original series, feature films, short-form content, podcasts and community features, they said.
The Gatherer Network will join other channels from Cinedigm’s Digital Networks Group, which also operates Combat Go (martial arts), Docurama, CONtv (fandom), WHAM (eSports lifestyle), Hallypop (Asian music and pop culture), and the family-focused Dove Channel and DoveKids.

The new effort teams Cinedigm with Gatherer Entertainment, a company founded by CEO Jenna Segal, a former Viacom exec who, during her career, produced the Broadway show GIGI, off-Broadway’s What We’re Up Against, cult film Black Dynamite, and the “Lady Parts” web series. She’s joined by co-founder and CMO Heidi Packer Eskenazi, who founded boutique consultancy firm HAP Consulting and is also late of Viacom.
“We’re the target demo – we’re women, mothers, wives, daughters, and partners and we have no time to hunt for the quality content that entertains us and provides the answers we need,” Segal said in a statement.
