Rogers Adds MGM to VOD Lineup

Rogers Cable Inc. became the first Canadian MSO to directly tap into a major
Hollywood studio for video-on-demand content, inking a deal with
Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc.'s MGM Home Entertainment.

The deal brings about 50 MGM titles to Rogers' existing lineup, including
Die Another Day and Barbershop.

"It is clear that our customers are very interested in on-demand viewing and,
as interest in the video-on-demand service increases, Rogers is delighted to
bring on a major Hollywood player such as MGM to add to our VOD programming,"
Rogers president and co-CEO Edward Rogers said in a release.

Rogers' VOD service is available in central Toronto, and the MSO has plans to
expand it to additional Toronto neighborhoods by the end of the year and to
other Rogers cable systems after that.

The service offers digital cable customers 400 titles supplied by Alliance
Atlantis Motion Picture Distribution, which represents Miramax, New Line Cinema
and Artisan Films. Other content providers include Lion's Gate, CBC, Corus
Entertainment Inc. and TVA.
