Cable network Fox Sports World and FoxSports.com (foxsports.lycos.com/named/Index/Home)
have set up a new Internet home field for international content.
The two sports outlets have announced a new online Web portal (www.FoxSportsWorld.lycos.com)
offering more sports programming and interactive features.
The goal behind the site, distributed through Terra Lycos, is to promote the
cable outlet's international sports properties and offer integrated-media sales
packages.
FoxSportsWorld.com will also bring more soccer into play thanks to a deal
with BigSoccer Inc. (www.bigsoccer.com),
a major supplier of online soccer content in North America. BigSoccer will
contribute its message-board services to the site.
"By supplementing our broadcast properties with the best integrated online
content available, FoxSportsWorld.lycos.com will establish itself as the online
home for North America's fans of soccer and international sports," said David
Sternberg, general manager of Fox Sports World, in a release.
"We are pleased to join with BigSoccer and Terra Lycos in serving this
passionate and loyal sports community," he added.
