According to Digital Trends, Sage has sent emails to customers telling them they are in line for refunds for Sage system equipment and services they may have purchased. Customers don’t need to return the equipment to receive a refund, but continued use of Sage products are no longer covered by any warranty previously offered.

EchoStar, which launched Sage by Hughes in March, announced the plan to drop the product last month amid difficulty gaining traction in a competitive market alongside a decision to focus on other parts of EchoStar’s business.

At the time, EchoStar, the set-top and technology spin-off of Dish Network, also disclosed that long-time president Mark Jackson was leaving the company to pursue other opportunities. Stepping into that role is Vivek Khemka, who was recently promoted to CTO at Dish NetworkKhemka is retaining the CTO role and is now an employee of both companies.
