EchoStar Boosts Local-Channel Lineup

EchoStar Communications Corp. has gone local in four more markets thanks to
agreements forged with two broadcast outfits.

The direct-broadcast satellite provider signed pacts with Gray Television
Inc. and Cordillera Communications Inc. to carry their respective local TV
stations in Colorado Springs, Colo.; Tucson, Ariz.; Lexington, Ky.; and Omaha,
Neb.

Dish Network will now carry Gray's CBS-WKTY in Lexington, CBS-KKTV in
Colorado Springs and NBC-WOWT in Omaha.

Cordillera will see its TV stations NBC-KVOA in Tucson, NBC- KOAA in Colorado
Springs and NBC-WLEX in Lexington added to the Dish lineup.

With these agreements, Dish will carry all of the local channels in Colorado
Springs, Tucson and Lexington.

"Residents and customers in these cities now have a truly affordable
alternative to cable," said Michael Schwimmer, senior vice president of
programming at EchoStar.

In all, Dish now offers local channels in 59 cities. Customers pay an
additional $5.99 monthly to view the local channels via their satellite
receivers.
