DirecTV selected risk-management provider Neural Technologies to assist it in reducing its risk to fraud, officials said Tuesday.
After reviewing proposals from several companies with fraud-management expertise, DirecTV focused on a solution that would provide flexibility, easy-to-use case management, core analytics intelligence and a local presence for product delivery and consultancy support.
DirecTV selected Neural after it participated in a pilot study.
“Since we’ve thwarted signal thieves with airtight access cards, we’ve seen more instances of fraud, and we’re taking active steps to address these illegal activities,” DirecTV vice president, office of signal integrity James Whalen said in a prepared statement.
“Based on the positive feedback we’ve received from NT’s clients and its solid performance in the pilot study, we believe we have the best solution to dramatically reduce acts of fraud against DirecTV,” he added.
