Core, Jungo Hook Up Home-Net Products

Core Networks Inc. and Jungo Software Technologies Inc. have connected their
technologies to create an interoperable, CableHome-based software package that
they said will help MSOs to manage home-networking services over their cable
networks.

Core, a Canadian operational-support-system provider, and Jungo, a
residential-gateway supplier, said their partnership will make it easier and
cheaper for cable operators to deploy home-networking services over their Data
Over Cable Service Interface Specification networks.

It links Core's "CoreEnsemble" device-management software with Jungo's
"OpenRG" residential-gateway software in a reference design, offering the
package for licensing by consumer-electronics manufacturers.

The result is that devices powered by OpenRG software that can be managed by
CableHome-based OSS systems such as CoreEnsemble.

As a result, MSOs will have a full home-networking service to offer
subscribers, with network management integrated with consumer devices.

To solidify the relationship between the two companies, Jungo also will join
Core's "CoreDuet" partner-technology program.

"Today's announcement is also good news for CPE [customer-premises equipment]
vendors since it shows that OpenRG-powered gateways are interoperable and ready
to be managed by CableHome-based OSS systems such as CoreEnsemble," said Udi
Yuhjtman, Jungo's vice president of business development, in a
release.
