Comcast Calls In Convergys

Convergys Corp. will handle high-speed-Internet and digital-phone-customer
care for Comcast Corp. under a deal announced Thursday.

The billing- and customer-services-system provider -- which already has
contracts with Comcast for other billing and customer-account-management systems
-- snagged a multiyear deal to provide Comcast with technical-support services,
order management and customer care for its cable-modem and digital-telephone
offerings.

Convergys has 45 customer-care calling centers nationwide, serving more than
1.7 million telephone and Internet customer contacts.

Under the contract, Convergys will provide customer care for residential and
business customers in English and Spanish, reflecting Comcast's growing Hispanic
customer base.

Comcast will continue to provide local customer-service support for its cable
offerings, as well as some Internet and telephony calls in certain
markets.
