C-COR.net Corp. has landed a contract worth about $50 million with Adelphia
Communications Corp. to provide fiber optic and RF equipment for network
upgrades in 10 states this year.
C-COR.net will supply Coudersport, Pa.-based Adelphia with 'FlexNet 900
Series' RF amplifiers and nodes, 'naviCor' line extenders and 'Optiworx'
The upgrade project will bring the systems up to 862-megahertz capacity, able
to support high-speed Internet and new video-service applications.
'We are gratified by Adelphia's selection of our products, particularly in
this very competitive market. As the equipment supplier on this ambitious
upgrade effort, we will be focused on providing Adelphia with the highest degree
of network integrity to ensure customer satisfaction,' C-COR.net chairman and
CEO David Woodle said in a prepared statement.
The sixth-largest MSO in the United States, Adelphia has 5.5 million
subscribers in more than 30 states.
