BritBox Gets Classic ‘Doctor Who’

BritBox, the recently launched SVOD service from the BBC and ITV,  said it has become the exclusive U.S. streaming home to the “classic” Doctor Who catalogue, representing episodes that originally aired from 1963 to 1989.

BritBox will also feature curated Doctor Who playlists such as “Monsters,” which focus on episodes that feature foes such as the Daleks, and “Companions.” In the “coming months,” the service will also feature audio of “lost” classic Doctor Who episodes.

BritBox launched in the U.S. last month for $6.99 per month.

Doctor Who continues to be a global phenomenon that spans generations. Whovians in the U.S. now have a one-stop-shop for the most comprehensive catalog of Classic Doctor Who to either relive the exciting adventures with their favorite Classic Doctors, or experience for the first time how it all began,” said Soumya Sriraman, president of BritBox, in a statement.
