AudioCodes Locks Up Nuera Acquisition
By Karen Brown
published It’s a done deal for AudioCodes, which put the finishing touches on its acquisition of fellow cable voice-over-Internet-protocol gear provider Nuera Communications for $85 million in cash.
The acquisition, announced May 16, gives AudioCodes a stronger foothold in the U.S. cable market. Based in Israel, AudioCodes has until now focused most of its marketing of cable VoIP products on Europe.
In addition to the $85 million payment, AudioCodes agreed to pay former Nuera shareholders a maximum $5 million if Nuera achieves certain revenue milestones during the 12 months after the acquisition is complete.
