ADC Telecommunications Inc. chairman and CEO Rick Roscitt is trading in
broadband-network gear for the telco world, accepting a position as president
and chief operating officer of financially troubled WorldCom Inc., which is now
operating under the MCI brand.
He will start work Sept. 1, overseeing MCI’s operating units from the
company’s Ashburn, Va., headquarters. He will report to WorldCom chairman and
CEO Michael Capellas.
ADC chief financial officer Robert Switz will take over as CEO and continue
as CFO until a replacement can be found. John Blanchard III will assume the role
of nonexecutive chairman.
