TCA/Tracy Ullman Sings about Showtime; Tells Press to Stowe The Blackberries

Showtime opened their TCA presentation yesterday with a skit featuring Tracy Ullman celebrating Showtime Broadway musical style.  Ullman stars in Showtime’s sketch comedy show, Tracy Ullman’s State of the Union.

Hello everyone at TCA.  well, here I am again in the writers room of my show, Tracy Ullman’s State of the Union.

almost everyday now it seems that Showtime is signing new talent like Edie Falco, Toni Collette and Matthew Perry and taking chances on unknown young producers like George Clooney and Steven Spielberg.  Yes, Showtime has come a long way since Bill Clinton said it was his favorite late night channel.  So how to thank Matthew Ball?

yes, that’s what she said.  Matthew Ball.  A  mistake or inside joke or…Well, I know Bob Greenblatt likes a good musical.  And it seems like just yesterday when I came in for the pitch and i said..[kettle drums roll]  and launches into a broadways musical number:

AT that point ullman began to sing Julie Andrew style about how everything is beautiful at Showtime and:

we’re funny, we’re dramatic, we show nipples

here at showtiiime.

Ullman went urge both tease the press about the plehtora of electronic equipment that now populates the ballrooms and exhorted the press to "put down" their lattes, blackberries, cell phones, iPods and "all that other useless free shit they give you to promote shows at other networks."

showtime is second best

to none

So - Guys!  give ‘em your attention!

Do! I!  really have to mention

Shooowtime’s the one

Ladies and gentlemen of the TCA, put down the lattes, blacberries, cell phones, iPods, iPod covers and all that other useless free shit they give you to promote shows at other networks
