ComicCon: Chris Judge Readies for Rage of Angels

Walking down the street you might not recognize Stargate SG-1 co-star Chris Judge (Teal’c). Judge has refashioned himself. His new look was on display at the SCI FI Channel bash last night. Judge’s transformation is striking. Handsomely outfitted in an understated checked sportcoat and black shirt strategically unbuttoned by three or four, it was obvious that he’s slimmed down. For years Judge shaved his head and bulked up for his role as Teal’c. But now his hair is long and gelled.

What can I say. It’s a fabulous look for him.  (Click here for pics. Be sure to click on thumbnails to enlarge.)

Judge disclosed in our interview (much more to come) that he’s working on shedding even more pounds. The transformation, he said, is in preparation for his starring role in Rage of Angels, a television series (in development) he created. The pilot will likely go into production this fall. Michael Shanks (Stargate’s Dr. Daniel Jackson) is also attached.

MGM, which wholly owns the Stargate franchise, is keeping their stable of actors close to the barn. The studio is producing the pilot and 24 executive producer Brad Turner will direct.

Once again, SCI FI Channel took over the Solamar Hotel’s rooftop patio and the casts of Battlestar, Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis, and their newest production, Flash Gordon, milled around the pool. The top executives were there too, including MGM’s senior executive vice president finance and corporate development Charlie Cohen.

J.J. Abrams showed up for interviews and Stan Lee held court.
